A road trip out of Yangon, Bago (or Pegu), 80 Km away, used to be the ancient capital of Burmese empire around 16th Century. You will be picked up in the morning from your hotel for the drive to BAGO (84 km – 1½h). Pass through various agricultural landscapes. Trip in Bago starts with a visit to THAMANAY Buddhist Seminary. This monastery has about 150 monks living on its premises and is located the entry of Bago city. The tour continues then to the over a thousand years old SHWEMAWDAW PAGODA with its spire taller than the SHWEDAGON PAGODA.
After lunch at a simple local restaurant on your account, we will continue sightseeing to the 55-meter long reclining SHWE THA LYAUNG Buddha, which is among one of the country's most impressive images. Before heading back to Yangon visit the four giant Buddha images at KYAIK PUN PAGODA stop en-route by an Allied War Graves cemetery near HTAUK KYAN and a visit also a "Nat" tree shrine.
Upon arrival back in Yangon, transfer to your hotel.
